The forecast started out - 14 inches of snow in Portland, then 1/4 inch of freezing rain on top of that, all to hit PM 1/11/2011.
Gradually they changed the forecast, less snow, shorter freezing rain.
What we got: a tiny dusting of snow, maybe a little freezing rain, and temperatures 41 degrees overnight.
The winter snow storm that wasn't…
We washed the car and the Mazda today - boy were they dirty.
Blew leaves and picked them up in the back yard again - maybe one more time this year. Still have lots of puddles in the back yard.
Put out some peanuts in the shell - in the squirrel feeder and bird feeder. It is interesting to watch the squirrels attempt to bury them all over the yard. I wonder how they remember where they put them?? Got some big birds coming after the peanuts too.
Joe blew out the gutters and the front yard yesterday.
Day 26 of 30-day continuity of service. Joe's shoulder is starting to bother him more. We are going back to Dr. Austin Thursday morning, but I don’t know that there is anything he can do for it at this point, since Joe just had an injection a month ago.
I worked on tidying up the kitchen counters - decluttering them. The spices are now in the drawer to the right of the stove.
We made Chili - yummy, and we have 4 bags frozen for future meals.
smoothie of the day = orange, banana, strawberry, yogurt with whey. Pretty good, fluffy.
RAIN!
1/3 inch Saturday, over 1 inch Sunday, and already over 1/4 inch today. Looks like more is coming in.
So far, the creek hasn't come over the banks, and we have just one puddle in the low spot in the back. All our work this summer is paying off.
We do need to get the gutter on the shop lean-to pretty quick though.
The best smoothies so far: strawberries, cup of milk, cup of vanilla/unflavored yogurt (half and half) and almost 1/2 scoop of whey. Yummy!
Sunday, so quiet day. Joe sharpened the blades on the Toro and we mowed the front yard -should be the last timefor this year.
We got the oil changed in the Mazda today.
Tried to watch Brokeback Mountain - what s S-L-O-W movie , so we gave up. Watched The Cheyene Social Club instead - pretty good. It had SJimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda.
No smoothjie - we had whey powder in milk. Had a Pizza from Pap Murphy's for lunch (coupon!). I traded a cheezy bread and cookie dough coupon for a cinnamon wheel - they aren't too bad :-)
Kathy is banned from using USB hubs - they were taking too much power and the DVD drive was crapping out because of it. bummer.
